How to solve plastic part distortion problem?
In the process of plastic injection molding, there may be many problems. Such as distortion, shrinkage, etc.
Distortion will happen in one of the following conditions:
1. uneven cooling system
2. unsuitable injection system
3. unsuitable molding parameters
4. product structure, such as unreasonable wall thickness
When the product is produced, it��s hot and the inner stress of material cause the product to curve or distort during the process of gradual cooling.
We can improve by modify the injection gate, cooling system, product structure etc. and adjust the injection molding parameters. We can take advantage of CAE measures such as Moldflow to find out the problem.
If that still cannot solve the problem, there is a physical way we can do.
We can make a fixture. Put the products in the fixture. After the product cooled, the product will not distort. But it needs another labor to do this job.
We can also cool it using special equipment, but that way is costive.
